Education

At Dharnya, we offer a variety of programs and services designed for educational platforms, including pre-schools, primary schools, high schools, TAFEs, and universities. Education is one of our core values, and we aim to empower our youth and communities through knowledge. All our educational programs and camps are aligned with curriculum outcomes and can be customized to meet the specific needs of your school or organization.
Dharnya provides an environment for a transformative and unforgettable learning experience for your students, fostering personal growth, cultural understanding, and a deeper connection to the land and its traditional custodians, the Yorta Yorta people.
Our Programs Include:
1.Engagement with Yorta Yorta Elders and Community Members: Arrange for your students to interact directly with Yorta Yorta Elders and community members who can share their knowledge, stories, and traditions. This direct engagement provides a deeper understanding and appreciation of Yorta Yorta culture.
2. Immersive Cultural Activities: Plan a variety of immersive activities that allow students to experience Yorta Yorta culture firsthand. This could include traditional dances, art workshops, bush tucker tastings, and storytelling sessions around a campfire.
3.Guided Tours of Barmah National Park: Explore the stunning Barmah National Park with knowledgeable Yorta Yorta guides who can share the significance of the land, its flora, fauna, and historical landmarks from a Yorta Yorta perspective.
4.Hands-On Learning Experiences: Provide opportunities for students to participate in hands-on learning experiences, such as traditional craft-making, weaving, or canoeing, to gain a deeper appreciation for Yorta Yorta traditions and skills.
5.Reflection and Discussion Sessions: Schedule time for reflection and group discussions where students can process their experiences, ask questions, and reflect on what they’ve learned about Yorta Yorta culture, history, and their own perspectives.
6.Respectful and Responsible Engagement: Emphasize the importance of respectful and responsible engagement with the land, culture, and people. Encourage students to approach the experience with an open mind, humility, and a willingness to learn and listen.
